The Hostelz.com Review
Cabinas El Pueblo is a home away from home. This adorable little hostel is run by a local family who are always delighted to talk with you or help you out.
The Location
The location for this hostel is perfect. It's just a minute's walk from the downtown street, but it's tucked away down a side road that ensures you'll sleep peacefully at night. You'll feel comfortable and safe here.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The dorm rooms are immaculate, and you'll be welcomed to your room with a towel shaped into one of the local animals! The room doors come with a lock, so as long as you have rented an entire room (two bed minimum), you'll be able to secure your belongings. The rooms are spread across three main areas, though all are very close. Four rooms are in the main building, two are above the main area (on the second floor with the office), and one is in a separate building about five feet away.
The bathrooms are spotless and spacious, with hot water. The main building offers three bathrooms, so waits for a bathroom are rare. Each of the bathrooms includes a large, spacious shower.
Common Spaces
You'll find the common spaces limited, but cozy. The kitchen is large enough for a few people to cook, and they offer coffee complimentary all day. The coffee is grown at the owner's finca, or coffee farm! Additionally, they have some great hammock swings outside, and a small living room with an old TV and couches. The living room is quiet and has a nice breeze during the day. There are a few dusty books piled up in a book exchange.
The office is in the upstairs of the building, and the owners are always present. You can use three public computers with free Wi-Fi in the office. Also, it is recommended that you book any activity packages through the hostel, as the hostel guarantees a refund for weather, while no other vendor in town will.
Summary
This hostel couldn't be more recommended. It's warm, welcoming, gracious, and the family will take excellent care of you.
