The hostel is an old manor house which has character. While it is old, it's not rundown. The dorm rooms are spacious and there are handy little features like little closets to store your bags and hang your towels. The bathrooms are small and the shower space is cramped but clean. Bathrooms are unisex. There's a swimming pool and a large kitchen.
It doesn't have as many facilities as some of the newer or nicer hostels such as Paradiso, but has a friendly relaxed atmosphere. It is a bit further out of town than some of the other hostels. It's only a 5 minute walk from the bus stop - but it is up a killer of a hill. The hostel offers a free shuttle service pickup - which can make things easier if you have a heavy load.

The place had a good feel, everyone was very friendly and made us feel welcome. We had the deluxe double room in the front of the house that was very open. There were curtains all around it and i think one of them was missing as the curtains did not close all the way around the room. It was very basic, and a lot of the furnishings and bed sheets and bathrooms looked like they had been there since the dawn of time. They were clean though. A bit noisy as you could even hear whispers in the next room. Great location, close to the centre of town, but it is on top of a major hill, a bit of a fun challenge to run up it! This place is in dire need of an update.
