Charley Hostel is located in the Zone Colonial, and it seemed to be a good choice, until the place was raided by police men and thugs at 7 one morning. They threw all of what was in the rooms on the streets including our stuff, because the owner did not pay rent for over two years! Not recommended and it is not a safe choice. — hungary333 (2007-02-05) This is a great place to stay in Santo Domingo. It's location is the best -- right in the middle of the beautiful Zona Colonial. The staff is excellent and everyone treats you like family. You can easily meet other travelers or explore things on your own. This price is very reasonable and the rooms are simple but very comfortable and clean.
