This hostel is run by the owners and their little girl, which adds a great personal touch. They have over 100 DVDs that you can get put on for free but not only that they have kayaks, bikes, BBQ and table tennis but best of all a spa all free. The rooms are spacious and the bunks and walls are painted bright colours. The kitchen is huge, which makes it easy and a great place to make new friends. As well as 2 tv lounges there is coin operated internet machines and laundry facilites. These owners also offer ensuite doubles, some with tv and have added personal touches for these rooms with towels and sofas and table and chairs. There are also studio rooms, for thoses that want some privacy, which include a bathroom and mini kitchen area, with sink, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave, and these rooms are newly decorated and are fresh and spacious, great for a family or group of friends. This place is clean and well worth at least two days of your time. The owners know the activites off by heart and will suggest something that will suit you rather than what they get the most commission for. they are always willing to offer information and advice and are a pleaseure to talk to. Not only does the Bay of Islands offer stunning scenery but this hostel incapulates this.
