Very bad people!!!!!!! very not friendly!!!!!! in April 2009. when I call to the hostel to ask have pick up service? the lady said have. so I told her I'm in Invercargill now, please pick me up. and she change her answer and told me, you need walk to here. and very bad and very not friendly. — Daisy , NA (2009-04-06)

The best this is a super clean, inviting hostel, in a home off the main track but in the city. the owners are a caring couple who make an effort to get to know you. they serve up mean home-baked loves of bread accompanied by great chocolate bars each morning. they are great resources for the area as well. this is the only place i would stay when i return to i-cargil. — bill stanton , u.s.a. I was knocked out by the welcome I received from Jodi and Mark after doing the hump ridge track and traveling down to Invercargill. Jodi offers the most amazing relaxation massage imaginable -- it was heaven, and that before a great night's sleep in a cosy bed and being woken to the smell of freshly baked bread. We will be back. — Chrissy (2006-11-23)

I stayed at The Kackling Kea. Jodi and Suzi are awesome hosts. No check out time, so I could sleep in, and the bread and muffins were great. I would recommend that everyone visit this hostel. — Anonymous (2005-01-04)
