The Hostelz.com Review
Located in a quiet, residential area west of central London, the Ace Hotel is the ideal hostel for those who are looking for a quiet and clean hostel to stay at in London.

Located near the Baron's Court Tube Station on the Piccadilly Line, the Ace Hotel is located about two to three blocks away by foot, so you will not have to carry your bags too far. The hostel is far from the crowds of central London and is a short distance (less than thirty minutes) from Heathrow Airport. It is not the most accessable at night and will required a cab ride to get to after the tube stops running. The Ace Hostel is a colorful, multiple floor hostel that fits into the neighborhood, probably because it is a series of remodeled houses. There is twenty-four-hour service at the desk. As in a hotel, key cards are needed to access the front door, hallway doors, and room doors.

The hostel includes a lounge and bar with a pool table, flat panel TVs, and plenty of couches, chairs, and other comfortable furnishings. There is a garden area located near the bar that is an excellent place to relax on a warm day. There is a computer room with several computers for internet access and office tasks. The room also doubles as a luggage storage room as you will learn when you arrive before the 2 p.m. check-in time.

The rooms are very clean. The beds and bedding are brand-new and quite comfortable. The heating in the rooms is excellent, which is nice to have when sleeping in winter. There are private bathrooms scattered on several floors, with tubs located in some bathrooms and showers in some rooms. The showers do take some time to warm up. Towels and other toiletries can be purchased/rented at the front desk along with souvenirs and other items. Some of the items are pricey so do some price shopping before buying candy or toothpaste here. There is a free continental breakfast available in the lower level of the hostel. It is not much, but it will fill you up. Arrive early since the food disappears quickly and is not replenished quickly.

Overall, the Ace Hostel is an well-run hostel that exceeds expectations. It may not be the most sociable hostel, but the environment is excellent for those who require a good night of sleep after staying up all night. It may be farther away from the main attraction and activities in London, but that is what makes it a better place to stay to see the real London.

Clinical
This hostel is very clean and comfortable however it has an almost clinical feel. it lacks atmosphere. we found ourselves whispering when we were in the common area. during our stay, which was for three nights, the owner was around and she seemed to criticise the staff constantly and they seemed uptight and uneasy. check out time is at 10 a.m. and we were ten minutes late checking out and the owner barged into our room asking us to leave. i understand we should checkout on time, but ten minutes, there should be some leeway. I would recommend this place if your looking for a quiet break but stay somewhere else if you're looking to meet people and have the craic!

Clean, Safe, and Quiet
Very clean, safe, and it is not so crowded. It is a quiet place, but there are the hostel bar until 11 p.m. and internet access. There are two tube stations very close to the hostel, and you can go to any tourist attraction and downtown bars within twenty minutes using the tube. It is a residential area, so there aren't good restaurants and bars nearby. It is a safe area to walk at night. In my case it was perfect to rest at Ace Hostel after visiting nine cities in Europe.

Cleanest hostel of trip
this place is great. it is close to the tube (seven-minute walk), near convenience stores (four-minute walk), and has a great staff. the breakfast was bountiful and good. most importantly the showers and beds were clean, and it is possible to get sleep at night!

Meh.
This place is great, if you want a hostel that's far away from the action and is pretty lifeless. You won't really meet anybody here and you'll just stay pretty quiet. This hostel got a bad rating from me due to the maid deciding to take my bad and toiletries and pyjamas and place them next to the front door even though I had requested another night. What kind of hostel does that? The night front desk person woke me up to see if the stuff was mine and sure enough it was. Even though he had convinced me that losing my bag was my own fault. Listen. This place might have a nice bed, but for location and price you can definitely do better!

I stayed three nights beginning of March, this place is awesome. Security is very good, not only to enter the hostel, but to enter the corridors and the rooms, you must have a key card. Breakfast was what you'd expect for a free/included meal, biscuits, cereal, milk, coffee, juice.

We stayed at this hostel over Christmas and New Years, and I have to say that this place is so awesome. It is the little extras that really count, such as the little gifts they left on our beds for the Christmas and New Years celebrations. Ace is really close to the London Underground, which is really convenient when wanting to get around London. The rooms were clean, and the beds were really comfortable. The staff here is also really awesome and very helpful and informative. I would definitely stay here again, and plan to during future London vacations!

Best hostel I've stayed in to date. Very clean. Staff generally pretty helpful. Beds are fantastic! The breakfast that was included was very basic but it does the job. I'd definitely stay here again.

I absolutely loved my stay here. I stayed for two nights and chose a co-ed room en-suite with a bathroom. My roomies were excellent and the environment of the hostel was so hip. They had lockers located in the rooms that would fit your pack, everything was very clean. they have a huge living room type place with large screen TVs (perfect for world cup watching) and a bar, internet room, hot tub, beautiful garden in the back, and a great selection for breakfast (compared to other hostels). Plus, it is a less than five-minute walk from the Piccadilly tube line, which is also the same line as Heathrow Airport, Hyde Park, Leicester Square, and a lot of other popular locations. The hostel is located in a super nice residential neighborhood, and as a female, I felt relatively safe walking around by myself in the evenings. one great advantage is that since there is no curfew, you can check-in as late in the evening without having to worry about calling ahead. My only recommendation, for any travelers anywhere, are earplugs. Enjoy your stay -- mine was excellent!

The Ace Hotel is a great hostel. The only bad things I can say about it are 1) it is outside of central London, so it will take some extra time to get to the main attraction in the city, 2) check-in is a 2 p.m., and 3) the continental breakfast is not stocked fully for the large volume of people that appear in the mornings. If you are looking for a clean hostel in a quiet neighborhood, the Ace Hotel is the place.

This was a wonderful clean and new hostel. Great air conditioning when London does get hot, and a lovely quiet garden at the back. Convenient to public transport and local shops for food. The hostel is great and dorms with en suites really are the go. Everything was clean, safe and working. If I was a partyer the bar would have been great too but I was too travel wearied for drinks and even the enormous plasma screen tv downstairs. Again - it is great.

Brilliant hostel!Spotless(the cleaners never stop!!!),Its modern with big leather couches, big warm duvets and very comfortable.I was sorry to leave. The STAFF make the place! They are so nice and helpful...especially Bejamin who I would like to say a big thank you to!He deserves a big Christmas bonus ;) I would definitely recommend staying here.My only complaint would be that one guy who worked nights there was extremely rude...but he can be avoided so it wouldn't put me off staying there again. Its situated in a lovely area too which seemed very safe at night and Kensington High street is a short walk away,as are plenty of touist attractions and only a 20min tube journey to the centre.Enjoy your stay!!!!

I've stayed in several hostels in London over the past 15 years and this one is definitely the BEST one in London ... in my opinion anyway. The hostel is nice and comfy, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the rooms were basic but clean. The hostel is situated in a nice neighborhood and is close to the tube station. Doesn't take you long to get into Central London were all the sights are. I stayed there from Friday to Saturday and it was pretty quiet for a big city hostel, so apart from the soft mattress I slept well. If I get back to London in the future and can't crash on my friend's sofa I would always go back there. Breakfast is pretty basic (toast, jam, cereal, coffee and tea) but included.

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed at in London. It's clean and attractive and the people who work there are cool. The location is excellent, as it's only a few minutes walk to two Tube stations on two different lines. So when you go into central London you can just take whichever line is more convenient for your stop. Getting to and from Heathrow Airport on the Tube is extremely easy and quick because you don't have to change lines and you don't have to go through central London.

The Ace Hotel is a great, top-notch hostel, and I fear I am spoiled from staying in it due to its cleanliness and degree of modernity. The staff are all quite nice and helpful, and it is on a very quiet, quaint little street. West Ken is a bit outside central London, but the hostel is literally a 5-minute walk from the station, so it matters not. It is a pretty low-key environment, perhaps not the most social of hostels, and definitely not a party hostel (if you are looking for one), but I still met cool people from all around the world, and my roommates were generally fine. Stay here and you will not be disappointed!
