The Original Backpackers Hostel

i was here in december 2006. i was a little nervous when i arrived here. i travel all the time on my own. i still get nervous when visiting a hostel, however i was greeted by kerry who was most hospitable. she showed me around the hostel, and she always had a smile on her face. i also met bruce the manager he was kind as well. There are good aspects about this hostel, for example fridge, television, showers, toilet inside every room, good kitchen, and a television room with sky television. It's also close to Opera house. i walked there and took me fifteen minutes to walk there. there are also organised nights out at this hostel so if you're on your own like myself, it's a good way to meet other travelers. i would return back to this hostel again, it's a good, friendly hostel.

I had a great time at Original Backpackers in Sydney.Great atmosphere and always something to do, whether it be watching movies on a rainy day, or going out to the club at night it was always fun. The staff were always friendly and helpful while showing strong knowledge of the surrounding areas. Recommend this hostel to anyone coming to Sydney.

Great hostel with nice rooms (TV and fridge) and very helpful staff. Just the kitchen is a bit to small... It is very close to the subway and Bondi Beach.

Clean? You're joking aren't you? I have just checked out of this place, as it is the biggest sh*t hole ever! I got here late and was greeted by a musky room smelling of bad breath and dirty knickers and bugs crawling in the bed and up the walls! Not nice! Also the girls who had stayed in the hostel for about two months had taken the room hostage and there was no room for any of our stuff!
