The Raisky Kat Hostel is located in a very quiet part of Plovdiv. It is within short walking distance to the old city and the main area with all the restaurants and coffeehouses. The easiest way to get to the hostel is with a taxi -- just tell the driver the street name and he will take you to the hostel. You won't need a taxi besides getting to and from the hostel because you can walk everywhere else.
The rooms, like the three-person room we stayed in, are clean and have everything you would need, but like the rest of the hostel they are very old. The shower/toilets are very old and look terrible, but at least they are clean.
The woman working there is very, very nice and speaks pretty good English. She can answer any questions about the area or give directions. You can leave your luggage until late at night on the day you check out, as we did. When we came to pick ours up, the woman was very nice and offered us tea and coffee for free. The breakfast is very good and includes coffee or tea, bread, cheese, ham, jam, and juice (about the best you'll get in hostels around Bulgaria).
