This hostel is best found by grabbing a map of Turku from an information centre and taking a short walk. It's not difficult to find, and reasonably close to local attractions (Turku is pretty small anyway, especially to the traveller who has done a good amount of walking). It's about a 15 minute walk from the centre of town.
The hostel atmosphere is warm and friendly. The hard wood floors and heating are very welcome, especially if arriving in winter. There is a good-sized kitchen with good facilities. The dorm rooms aren't exactly spacious, but they are cosy, tidy, and in very good condition. The bunk beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are in good condition, and there are separate showers. The water is hot and plentiful, and the water pressure is great. Access to the hostel is via a key (which also unlocks the individual dorm rooms) up until early morning (2am) after which time access is gained by ringing the bell.
The staff are friendly and knowledgable about the local area, and will offer help when asked. There is plenty of information on things to do and see in Turku in the foyer. The price is quite reasonable, and it is one of those hostels that you're always pleased to make it back to after a full day's (or night's) activity.
