The Hostelz.com Review
Cozy Castle Hostel captures the beach-town feel of Ballycastle, with a personal, friendly, live-in owner. A small to medium size hostel, it has a bit of that 1970's feel, with lots of wood, warmth, and breezy colours.

The bedrooms are neat and cozy, with bedding provided, and the bathrooms are clean, although not state of the art. A large comfortable kitchen is a great place to meet people and has all the standard amenities. The small lounge is stocked up with books, movies, and a television.

The hostel is very close to the seaside and the main road through town, with its distinctive yellow front hard to miss. Overnight parking is available nearby. The town of Ballycastle is fairly small with a fun high street where you can eat out and the beach atmosphere on the coast. Rathlin Island also awaits your visit with a fun ferry ride.

If you're looking for something with a slick downtown feel, then this hostel may be a little too relaxed for you. Otherwise, you'll find it a pleasant and warm place to stay.

We accidentally found this hostel while driving along the north coast and were we ever glad we did. Very friendly atmosphere and Siobhan (the owner/operator) was fabulous to us. Family friendly and "family" friendly, this hostel and the town itself far exceeded my hopes and dreams for a small town with friendly people, scenic views, and a comfortable stay. There is a co-op (cheap grocery) close by, several pubs and shops within waking distance, and the beach is within view of most of the rooms. Fantastic hostel!

The lady who runs the hostel is lovely. It has a great sitting area with a fire and massive kitchen. We enjoyed our relaxing stay here.

I've stayed in this hostel several times over the last few years. I live only 1.5 hours away and enjoy the North Coast area for walking trips. Nothing like a good energetic walk followed by a nice hot shower in a comfortable hostel before going into the town to a local restaurant for a slap up dinner and a few pints. RECOMMENDED, A+++++++++

This hostel has a very friendly, warm atmosphere. It is located only metres from the bus stop and the beach and is 100 metres from shops and pubs. It was very clean with plenty of hot water for showers, free tea, coffee and milk, and good laundry facilities. The hospitality was far beyond my expectations. The staff were helpful and the owner actually drove us (and others) out to the Giant's Causeway. Fabulous atmosphere with all residents going out to pub sessions together most nights we were there. I went with my 21 year old daughter and we both felt very sad to leave this warm, hospitable hostel.
