Impressed
very nice hostel, if you could call it that, it felt more like home. traveling as a couple, lovely double room in a separate building from the dorms, so don't know what they were like. our room was clean, nice comfy bed. kitchen, shower, and toilet cleaned every morning. kitchen small but has everything necessary. leather couch and big TV are an added bonus. boss was friendly and always said hello. close to city, apart from the hill! will be back.

Not too great (traveling as couple)
We (young couple) stayed in a double room at the back of the hostel. We were not too comfortable in the room because it smelled a bit funny and the linen was more yellow than white. The room had an ok size and also a little fridge. We haven't seen the dorms. Overall, the hostel did not seem very clean. Despite having a pretty nice pool in the back, nice kitchen facility in the back and a spacious rest area there as well, we moved out early. A second drawback is the location, we found it to be too far away from the city and moved to another place. There was also only one internet terminal (you have to pay to use it) and that was occupied most of the time.

Is a Hostel, not five-star Hotel.
I have stayed in many hostels over the years. This one is exactly what a hostel should be. No worries regarding security since metal lockers in the rooms. Fridge in room is bonus also. Two TV areas if you're into watching the Simpsons twenty-four hours like many fellow hostelers seem to do. Is a walk to city mall but not that bad. Pool at back is nice. One thing is i wish they could quiet the door closure system since quite a few hostelers seem to delight in letting everyone know they have arrived or are leaving no matter the time of day/night. Kitchen not suited for more than three people cooking at same time, but you get used to it.

It really didn't live up to our expectations. We arrived into Brisbane quite late but had prebooked a double room. Unfortunately it was the smallest room ever, right next door to the TV/dining/kitchen area. We could hear the TV whilst lying in bed! It was also right opposite a pay phone which is connected to the hostel's phone, so whenever a potential guest calls the hostel, the pay phone rings -- very annoying when you want to sleep/relax and it's constantly ringing! The kitchen is also really small too and once five people are in there it's full and you can't use the facilities safely -- the cooker is right near the door. Girls bathrooms are upstairs and are ok but no locks so anyone can walk in. Boys only have one toilet for the entire hostel. Not the relaxing stopover we'd hoped!

The best hostel I've stayed in so far! We stayed in a double room with a four-poster bed, great cooking facilities, really nice lounge with foxtel, and a really nice pool. I loved the victorian decor and it was really clean. Parking was a bonus too!

This place was ok, but just ok. It was not exactly clean, and there is nowhere to put all your stuff! Plus if you want to spend a lot of time in the city then forget staying here, as it is a half-hour's walk in. The only positive thing about this hostel is that it had a pool. There are backpackers that seem to have been here for months and do nothing but lounge on the sofas watching TV all day. Females beware using this hostel. When I stayed, the showers had no locks on the doors and merely had curtains. Some guys would suddenly become confused and come into the toilets whilst you were showering. I complained to the owner but he was not interested!

Hi, this hostel is excellent. I enjoyed every second. This week I will be back for the sixth time. :)

I liked the hostel as it was generally quiet and the rooms are big with fridges. The pool is nice, too, for a city hostel. However the kitchen is far too small and most of the hobs don't work. Also the Australian staff there are strange and unfriendly, to say the least. The backpacker staff, however, were excellent.

Fantastic. It was very clean and had nice rooms, and the lounge and pool are great. It was a very chilled-out and friendly place.

Quiet and clean. I enjoyed my stay here. I liked the fact it was a little bit out of the city but close enough to walk to all the main attractions.

Very nice, quiet hostel. Clean, good atmosphere and a nice kitchen and courtyard. It's quite far from the city centre, but most hostels in Brisbane are.
