It is ok, but a little messy I found it as a good hostel for backpackers. Staff is really friendly. I didn't happen to meet Hans, the owner, but I met Consuelo, who is a kind person. But the place is a little mess. It seems that some investment is required, mainly in infrastructure.

Casa Viena is the best hostel i stayed in Colombia. the perfect spot to hang out, to meet people, to get updated information. it's true that air con in the dorm is switched off around 10 a.m, but still better than no air con at all, like in all other low budget places here in Cartagena.

The hostal is just perfect! The staff is friendly, the place is clean. A absolute recomendation! But don't book a trip to samblas/ panama trough them. They work together with two captains (Higuera on the Marie Jo and Stephane on the Coconut). We have been robbed and one of us even beaten! It looks like paradise but it is a trip to hell!

I really loved the place, especially with its owner Hans, who is a very helpful guy. It's the perfect place for your stay in Cartagena, with lots of information, free coffee and a kitchen with everything you need. And of course, it's cheap and safe!

Not the best hostel ever but it is in a good location for the old town and the rooms/beds are cheap. Air-conditioning turns off after 8:30 a.m. though, so be prepared for a sticky lie in. Avoid the park and try not to walk alone at night!!!
