Cheap but exactly what I needed This was a really good place, strange, but friendly, clean, and safe. By the way, if you do not find the telephone number, here it is: + 852 9756 3520. — Antonio , Spanish (2008-06-06)

I was there exactly a year ago. I was like kind of surprised at the condition and the people there!! I didn't expect a Nigerian to work there. Of course, being a first timer visiting Hong Kong, I sort of felt unsafe especially with these people around. But as time passed, I felt that they (the Nigerians) are kind of honest and friendly. In fact there are a lot of Nigerian people in the street. The owner even brought us dim sum to eat together with her family. Although the room was a bit small, and the toilet a bit squeezed, we were served by a wonderful family who cared for us and warned us of the people around Hong Kong. A big THANK YOU. I hope to see you soon!! — Jim (2005-11-24)
Well, having been fully warned about touts trying to get you to go to their hostel. I wasnt surprised that within 2 seconds of stepping of the bus I was approached. However being fully prepared I said no thanks and was on my way, like an aspirin looking for a headache. However he was persistent and as it turned out he was actually working for the hostel I was staying at. Bonus. First impressions of Miador Mansion were a little poor to say the least but i booked in and the staff were very friendly and quickly showed me to my room. The entrance to the hostel was clean, my worries slowed faded away. The room itself was small it didnt have any windows but had air con and what the hell, im on a budget. The location is spot on, within easy walking distance of all the main attractions, therefore I never in my 10 day vacation needed to get a taxi. However its a stones throw away from the infamous Chung King Mansion. I found myself having to find an alternative walk home as the many general dodgy people and prostitutes outside gets a bit much after the second day. So its clean relatively good location so why 2 stars. Now I think after many years of travel the most important thing in a budget hostel is cleanliness. So having being eaten alive by bedbugs for 7 days having thrown my pillow into the hallway being infested with ####### I decided enough was enough and headed off to the airport 3 days early just to find there were no vacant seats available on the plane. So back to Miador Mansion it was. However I met a another tout on the way and decided to stay there for 3 days. It was however in the same building but at least it would be clean as it was a little more expensive!!! First two nights, great no prob, a bigger room a bigger bed all was looking good. So on my last night it was straight to the bar for some farewell drinks to HK and with many friendly people that I met. Up at 6am, my flights in a few hours, time to get ready, taking a bit longer with a hangover. Only to discover that having slept in only my boxers I had been the main meal for perhaps hundreds of bedbugs. 10 times worse than before. So needless to stay my 16 hour flight to my next destination was not enjoyable to say the least. Never again. So on a final note remember bedbugs lead you into a false sense of security by waiting a few days before they drink your blood and a double bed will hold double the amount of bedbugs. — Sean (2005-08-19)

Hi Apple, I'd just like to thank you and your other half for your warm hospitality and guidance given, a big thank. We missed the chance to say thanks when we checked out from your premises a bit early in the morning. We enjoyed our stay here very much and hope to revisit you sometime later. For those who browse this site, here is my strong recommendation on this great place to stay. It's so convenient to access anywhere in Hong Kong from here, and it's a safe place. And we have enjoyed great chats with friends from Nigeria and others, great friendships. Thanks again. — Elliot Chee and Ronald Ng (2005-07-06)
