3   Cheapest hostel in Cairo -- not bad but what can be expected for $2 This is literally the cheapest hostel in Cairo. At $2 a night, don't expect much. Beds were clean, rooms were clean but hot. A creaky fan and poor lighting was in my double, which was in a high floor above the seedy Souk Al-Tafiqua. Showers were in decrepit shape, if clean. Bring your own TP. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Free breakfast is served on a balcony overlooking the suq, which is nice. This hostel was what I paid for, but next time I will try somewhere else.  , USA ()
1   THE WORST HOSTEL EVER I stayed on this hostel on Sept 2007, When we got there, We tried loggin in on "private" room. The place is so filthy, not even the roaches will want to stay there. We didn't stay and still had to pay for the night. AVOID THIS HOSTEL!  , American ()
2  Even though the rooms are not as great as I expect them to be under European circumstances I think the staff are fine and honest. The beds are clean and the hostel is just the best-situated place you can have in Cairo.  ()
