5  Fantastic Very nice, clean, and all in hand. very close to copacabana beach. The staff are very nice too, the owner is a very nice girl.  , Belgium ()
1  I stayed here for 4 nights over New Years 2004-5. It's the most sterile, un-fun hostel I've been to. And by sterile I don't mean clean because they don't clean your rooms or change your sheets consistently and the bathrooms get really filthy. And by un-fun I mean the fellow travelers are cool, yes, but the staff are instructed to NOT have fun with the guests. (Who ever heard of a hostel that enforces THAT rule?) The day we arrived the place had been held up at gunpoint by a former employee, and a bunch of tourists got ALL their money/passports/cameras stolen. NOT FUN. The owner is certifiably CRAZY, and six months ago the "NEW" hostel used to be a WHOREHOUSE/BROTHEL. EEW! Old men still come to the hostel at night thinking they can have a good time. THE only positive thing about this hostel is that it is two blocks away from the beach. But Copacabana is kind of dirty and overrated, so I'd go to another beach anyway. Good luck with your travels!!  ()
