Boswinger Youth Hostel

Boswinger Youth Hostel is idyllically located in the hamlet of Boswinger, where country paths lead through sheep pastures to nearby beaches. Boswinger and its nearest village, Gorran, both lie along the South West Coastal hiking path, and are best accessed by car. The hostel has free parking. Alternatively, travelers by train alight at St. Austell and connect via local buses to Gorran Haven, a twenty-minute walk from Boswinger. The hostel is happy to help with public transport information and schedules. Reception is open only until noon and after 5 p.m., and doors are locked at 11 p.m.

Hostel users range from young backpackers to families and the elderly. The hostel offers dormitory and en-suite rooms. Breakfast is extra, and traditional Cornish suppers can be ordered at reception. The hostel also has a delightfully pebbled courtyard garden with barbecue facilities and picnic tables, and a fully stocked kitchen.

The hostel is small and cozy. Most of the rooms look onto the courtyard so there is a strong sense of community. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. An abundance of games and novels and nature and history guidebooks can be found in the lounge. Its location and friendly reception make it a peaceful and scenic, albeit remote, getaway.
