I have never been to the hostel but i have been checking in the internet about it and am a bit disappointed because one cannot be able to get the cell phone number or email address of the contact people of that hostel from the net apart from the postal address which is not of much help. — John Muriithi , Kenya (2007-04-10)

This IYH is actually a rectory where priests live. There is also a church inside the compound and many friendly people all around. Be sure to ask about the airport pick-up as it will save you about half on the transport. The rooms are humble but the staff is very accommodating. They ask what you would like for meals and the cook makes just about anything you want. I brought my own mosquito net, but they do have small ones already on the beds. You can walk to an internet cafe about a mile and a half away from there, not far from a grocery where you can buy bottled water and food items. The hostel is safe and quiet except for the usual drumming and music late at night out in the neighborhoods. The hostel is located about a twelve-minute boda boda ride from downtown Kampala, south of the city, and there is also van taxi service from the nearby road. I met some folks from Germany who were also staying there, and a Danish journalist on his way to Tanzania. All in all it was a great choice, but I could have used a place a bit closer to the city for the business I had to do there every day. But I liked riding the boda bodas and the public transportation, though. The people along the way are very friendly. — Maurine (2006-06-01)
