My sister and I were staying in Madrid and wanted to come up to San Sebastian with some friends we had met. The place looked nothing as advertised. The staff was scary and the doors to the rooms do not lock! This was especially frightening as their was a strange man roaming around that lived there as well. Also, the shower and bathroom did not lock and there was no curtain around the shower. We left immediately and ended up staying at a hotel nearby for not much more than this dreadful hostel. We were in Europe all over and this was the only bad hostel we experienced the entire time.

Crazy place! I loved it. The owner was straight out of an Almodovar movie and the two English/Spanish speakers in the reception were so much fun. Definitely the place I'll stay in if I return.

This place is extremely dirty! Small dirty rooms and a kitchen I wouldn't even drink a beer in. Do not go there! It is much worse then you could expect.

If I could give this place less than one star I definitely would. We arrived to this dirty apartment building early in the morning after taking an overnight train from Barcelona. We did not get our rooms until about 4 p.m. that day and they were not even cleaned. The kitchen was absolutely disgusting. The picture shown is not the kitchen that was in the hostel!! The room pictures do not show what was in the hostel! There are two bathrooms: in one the toilet did not flush and a bucket was necessary to clear the toilet contents; in the other, there was no light — shower in the dark, anyone? The owner is crazy! He is difficult to deal with. He lives in his little room or "closet" all day long. People would leave this hostel after paying for it because it was so gross! Don't stay here! San Sebastian was one of our favorite places on our tour of Europe (it is incredibly beautiful), but this was the worst place we stayed at, by far!!

Beware of the pictures on this site: they don't show the real hostel. This place was the most dirty—expensive—gross place I've been to. The guy who runs it is a complete freak. When I was here, a guy puked all over the common rooms and two days later, it still had not been cleaned. They don't change the sheets in the beds, so if you're stuck here, make sure you have a sleeping bag. This was the WORST experience I had in Spain.
