Renstierna hotel & hostel

Hostel Renstierna is well located South of Gamla Stan close to a trendy and area for bars and nightlife. The staff are welcoming and helpful and go out of their way to offer assistance. The breakfast is above average with a good selection of cereals, meats and cheeses. However, the basement dorms can be quite claustrophobic and the six bed I was in definitley felt crowded with only four in it. With six you would tripping over ladders and backpacks, especially in an emergency. Light was also a problem as the blind only covered 50% of the ceiling window. The bathrooms were clean and in some cases brand new, leading me to think that our six bed was orginally designed for two. There was no problem meeting people in communal area and we had several nights on the town with fellow travellers. AH 14/9/06
