Clean and comfortable I had a terrific time at the hotel Tamara. It was just what i was looking for. It was clean, safe, cosy, and friendly staff. If I ever get back to Amsterdam (which I really hope to), I will stay here for sure. The Blarney Stone was a great bar, I felt like a local after being there only ten minutes!

Fantastic i have stayed in the hotel tamara and over the blarney stone numerous times since 1993 and had a great time there and in the blarney stone. the owner paddy and manager paddy are great people and so are all the staff. the staff that have worked behind the bar over the years have been great craic and a breath of fresh air in a smoke filled city. the dubliners irish band have drank here on occasion and judging by the pictures on the wall had a good time. i also met three band members from iron maiden in the bar in the late '90s and they also enjoyed it. when i got to drunk one night pauline and conner made sure i got back to the hotel tamara safely. i made good friends there and hope to see them soon.

Absolutely fantastic! From the 16th till the 19th july 07 we were in an apartment upstairs the Blarney Stone Pub. It was just incredible. We were six person -- six beds, living room, kitchen with freezer, bathroom with shower. Conner, the housekeeper, was very very kind and it's always nice to go downstairs to the bar and drink one, two, or even more Kilkennys! It's in the center or "centraal" of amsterdam. We've payed EU30 per person and night. But it's absolutely worth to go there! go there and you'll never forget amsterdam again! For sure! (directly opposite the pub is a very good coffee-shop,and it's no problem to take it back to the room -- so enjoy!)

What a time. We went in May 2006 and I loved the place. Connor, the housekeeping, was truly wonderful -- he provided much entertainment. I think the people that had a rotten time stayed over at the hostel part which is not as nice -- if they like you right off the bat, or know you already, they give you a room in the hotel above the bar, which is a dream. Our room was enormous, clean, with easy chairs and TV and a window seat looking out onto the street, and it was beautiful. Great location, right by train station so you aren't dragging your stuff all over, all kinds of food and smart shops and red light district and all right at your fingertips. Do yourself a favor and stay here.

Please, do not stay there. I do not know in which hotel the people stayed who had a great time there. The rooms look quite nice on the photos, but actually they are horrible. It is dirty, smelly, and a lot of things do not work. The beds were too old to sleep in, we moved the mattresses to the floor. We had a sink, but no running water. The curtains and the carpet were disgustingly dirty. The sheets, towels had holes. I have seen lots of hostels, but this one should honestly be checked by the health department.

What a fantastic place. I had such a good time here. We stayed in the hotel in a lovely little room -- it was small but nice, well worth the cheap price. The staff was so nice and helpful and really made sure we had a great time. We went to the Blarney Stone every night and met loads of great people. It was great because we really got to meet the locals. What a great bar.

where to begin -- dont bother, stay at home it was a dissater before we stepped in the door. it looks from outside like a prison. we should have known what we could expect of the rooms by the state of the reception full of peoples luggage (presumably about to leave). when we got to the rooms jaws dropped waht we saw was a smelly, dirty, ugly crack den. i would have probably had a better nitght in a cell -- at least we would have had our own toilet unlike the falsely advertised en-suite rooms which turned out to be one toilet to be shared by all guests, hotel staff, and the resident builders. after thirty seconds in the room we realised we had made a massive mistake and immeadiately vacated the premises to look for a more suitable place just to lay our heads. taz was eager to get the money for the rooms. we asked if we could see the rooms before, but stated they were being cleaned, we paid the four hundred euros owed and then came back in an hour to our rooms, which were far from "cleaned" -- he just wanted to get our money as quick as possible. we ended up losing four hundred euros but it was well worth it. don't stay here.

The place was a sight. The place is literally falling apart. Only out of desperation we came here. Look for another place -- please.

All thanks to Taz and the staff! They were very friendly and helpful during our first stay in Amsterdam. The hotel is basic but clean and comfy and safe where it counts. :) Great location for a such a superb city.

I stayed here in late August 05 — it was the only hotel that had beds available and gave us a room at the drop of a hat. Taz is a great guy, as is Conner the housekeeper of the Blarney Stone pub. Ask for a Conner Special — great drink. Good, friendly staff. Ok, the rooms aren't the best but they have a bed, they are clean, and are within reach of all the big sights — across from the New Kirk, around the corner from Anne Frank's house and on the main road straight from the station.

I stayed here in June 04 and had a great time. Taz is a real character; "Beware the brides of Satan, gentlemen!". I would definitely go back. Rare craic.

Ba maith liom an ostan seo bhi se go han maith agus — oh, right, in English. Well, if I have to — it was in a great location, practically on Dam Square, very close to all amenities — supermarket, tram lines, coffee shops, etc. Lovely people, too. Taz, what a legend. Well, it's a good value in my opinion — slan go foil.

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were slightly aged, but the staff and tolerance were exceptional. The location and security was 5 star. I would book again if visiting Amsterdam. I love the Irish!
