Poor service and deceiving description! I was very disappointed with this hostel. I arrived and had to wait for over an hour to get my room because my room was given away to another person who was unhappy with their room when they checked in the previous day. The manager asked me to switch to a single room which was not possible because there were two people and we needed a double room. The manager was very rude to me, but called the person to move back to their original room. The whole check-in process was the worst check-in that I've had. The management are very rude and have a big attitude. Then, she would not honor the rate that I reserved the hostel at and said that the confirmation meant nothing. I had to wait while the person moved their stuff, but finally got to my room after an hour. I was very disappointed with the room. The description said a double-room with a private bathroom. The room looked like a single room and we had a shared bathroom with the whole hall. The bathroom's light did not work and there was no window, so it was not possible to see at all. I would highly recommend that people do not stay at this hostel, unless they want to deal with an incompatible management staff and poor accommodations.

This place had a great location, but poor service. We waited for 30 minutes to check in. At least three people came to the front desk during our three-night stay, saying that staff had packed up all their belongings and put their backpacks in the hallway even though they had paid. We came back one night and found a staff member using our toilet and had to wait in the hallway. But it was a great location and not too expensive by Hong Kong standards.

I arrived at Hong Kong and thought wow, with its breathtaking views and brightly-colored buildings, what amazing start this city was for my trip. However, my feelings changed as soon as arrived at Sung Kong Hostel. After a long wait in reception I was shown to my room, which was small and cramped and nothing like the picture shown on their Web site. To make matters worse, the door to our apartment had a dodgy lock and the surrounding area was filled with a gas smell, which was not good for two girls suffering asthma. Thinking it couldn't get much worse, we were later to find that three boys were actually sharing our en suite room. That was not great for three girls who had lots of sightseeing to do. After receiving no help solving the problem we left very unsatisfied. Due to the boys, we weren't able to take hardly any showers, or only had cold water showers. Plus there were many other things. Don't be fooled by the photos!

A very friendly low budget Hostel, very close to all the action.
I also met some nice people from all over which is always a good testimonial. It's one stop on the MTR to Wan Chai (The Bridge is a 24 hour pub, and Devils Advocate and The White Stag are well worth a visit, as is Fenwicks), two stops from Lan Kwai Fong (classier bars, also more pricey!) The Hostel has a very good 24-hour supermarket opposite and close restaurants and cinemas. It's definitely worth a visit for a week or so.
