The Hostelz.com Review
Casa Aventura is a small hostel with a friendly atmosphere. The hostel has a few small dorm rooms which are basic but clean, as well as a kitchen and communal eating area. A free breakfast of mainly fresh fruit is provided in the morning. Since the hostel is small, it is a good place to get to know your fellow travelers. There is no curfew and the hostel is within walking distance of much of Valparaiso's nightlife.

The friendly owners are a Chilean and German couple and speak Spanish, German and English. They are able to organize a number of activities including Spanish lessons, walking tours and longer excursions to nearby national parks.

Casa Aventura occupies the first floor of a century old building. The rooms are basic but have been recently renovated and painted in bright colors.

The hostel is located in one of Valparaiso's old neighbourhoods and given the winding nature of the streets in the area, it can be difficult to find even if you have a map. Unless you're keeping a sharp eye out, it can be easy to walk past the building. From the main bus station, it is a 10-15 minute bus ride (any bus with destination Aduana) to the stop closest the hostel. Get off at the Shell gas station and walk up Calle Urriola. You need to go up the steps on the left hand side of the street just before Calle Alvaro Besa.

Very safe and convenient
I had the opportunity to stay at the apartments which are located at the top of one of the Cerros. The apartment are impeccable, clean, and near the Museos de Cielo Abierto. I was able to walk around and have a home based nearby. The management explained to me with details the opportunities to discover the beauty of Valparaiso, which is always welcome. Once I had my map and some ideas, I was ready to go. The people managing the apartment are always available and friendly and were able to answer my questions in both English and Spanish. I felt at home.
