5 Nice double room with bathroom in it. Great receptionists. This place is close to the center and the magnificent Kazimierz district.

1 This hostel messed us around inexcusably. We booked a double room, only to be told on arrival that the previous occupants had disappeared with the key. We were housed instead in a fourth-floor room three buildings away from the hostel, which was not a double but rather a children's dormitory with cots on the floor. It was not attached to the hostel, it was remote from the facilities, and it was located in a poorly-lit residential building. We were promised the original room or another double for the second night of our stay. But when we went to collect the key, we were told that new arrivals had been allocated the room we'd been promised and there were no spaces. So we had to stay in the remote room again. On checking out we were asked to pay the full price for a double room. The staff were offhand and unhelpful, and clearly out to squeeze money out of the situation—the children's dormitory room would have stood empty had it not been foisted off on us. I wouldn't be surprised to hear of the staff double-booking rooms again, now that they've found they can make extra money by doing it.
