Popol-Vuh is a good place to hang your hat for a few days, as long as you don't mind a rusty hook. The place is in pretty rough shape if you're using the cabanas without the toilets and showers. The kitchen is slim pickins too. One really good frying pan. Some super basic utensils but a nice fridge. The place is chained shut at night so you better coordinate who gets the key. Two of the four fire extinguishers read as "recharge/replace." When we were there, I had to shake the gas canister to finish cooking our dinner, then there was no gas for two days after. All the negative aside however, we found the place strangely relaxing and figured we would stay there again. Great breakfast at the restaurant across the street, and you can drink with the mariachi bands for 12 peso beers at the little bar by the main gate.
