Opened in January 2004 and located in the heart of Buenos Aires in the historic Tango district of San Telmo, Hostel Carlos Gardel is managed by its owners and thrives at combining a fun atmosphere with a comfortable "at home" feeling. The decoracion and ambient of this majestic 100 year old building has been cared for immaculatly and was renovated with a careful eye on conserving the feel and life of an early 20th century Tango club.
Situated within walking distance of Buenos Aires´ most atractive and visited tourist stops, including: the Obelisk, Plaza de Mayo, Plaza Dorrego, Avenue 9 de Julio, Puerto Madero, The historic neighborhood of La Boca, Nature Reserve on the bay, Museums, Antique shopping, The "broadway" of Buenos Aires on Corrientes street, and the pedestrian only Florida street. And of course the magical evenings of San Telmo, with its bars, restaurants, and Tango clubs. Hostel Carlos Gardel is easy to find by subway, bus, and/or train and is located in one of the safest and funnest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, 7 days a week and 24 hours a day!

Variations of rooms include: Single rooms, Double rooms, Shared rooms up to six beds, and a Shared room up to 10 beds. Prices range from U$S 7 to U$S 10 per person and we also offer 15 day or monthly discounts.

Services include: 24hr. reception, Lockers, Breakfast, Internet, Fully equiped kitchen, Free Tango classes, Daily room service, Private telephone booth, Blankets, sheets, and towels, and a Living room with TV, VCR, stereo, and board games. These services are all included in the cost of the room.

4 Really friendly
I only stayed for a short time but the people were fantastic. A twenty-four-hour, really helpful reception made a lot of difference. we easily met heaps of great people both staying in BA for a while and others just traveling through. fun place with a big plus for having air conditioning in the dorms.
