charo is a lovely woman who speaks fluent spanish. i stayed at this beachfront hostel for only one night, but the room was beautiful, the water was very hot (charo explained that she paid extra money to have good a water heating system so she can guarantee hot water in each room), and it was one of the nicest hostels i have come across in my month in ecuador. charo is expanding her lovely hostel and i can't wait to see it when it is finished. i plan on returning when i visit ecuador again. i recommend charo's here and have already recommended it to some friends traveling there next week. montanita is a lovely town with a strong expatriate surfer/hippie bohemian presence. the food is great with many wonderful places to eat, and the surf is big.

Montanita is a great place to visit; I was there last January and had a great time. Charo's is (in my opinion) the best hostel in Montanita; it has excellent service, first class accommodations. I hope to be back soon.
