Accents on the Park is a home away from home run by a lovely New Zealand couple. The friendly owners make your stay as comfortable as possible and will book tours for you or simply help you plan your trip. The hostel is ideally located in the centre of town and overlooks a lovely shady park which houses Nelson's landmark park square.
The house itself is charming and very comfortable. Beds are new with spring mattresses and crisp linen. Bedside lamps are just one of the thoughtful features that make this hostel so comfortable. Double rooms with or without en-suites, twins, and dorm rooms are available. Bathrooms are clean and located near all rooms without en-suite facilities.
There is a large, well-equipped kitchen with all the appliances you would ever need plus a bar selling delicious and reasonably priced food and drinks. Plus you get to meet the resident chef -- Mum! There is also a courtyard to relax in or a communal sitting room with cable TV, free videos, a library, and games. This is not a party hostel but is the kind of place to make you stop and stay a while.

Fab stayed here for a month in august 2008. didn't want to leave. so homey, which is hard for a hostel. loved it, will be back. — debs , irish (2009-11-02) We stayed here in February of 2006. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful, the place is impeccable (love the showers), and the atmosphere is homey and comfortable (loved the little lights on the balconies). Food in the restaurant is good, too! Highly, highly recommended. — Katie (2007-02-21) Extremely clean kitchen/bathrooms, and great decoration throughout. The service is also surprisingly helpful.
