The Hostelz.com Review
A good solid YHA hostel, there's nothing to complain about at YHA Liverpool -- indeed the hostel is worthy of much praise for its consistently high standards.
The Location
The hostel is situated by Albert Dock in central Liverpool. The nearest train station is Central (twenty-minute walk), although Lime Street is also within walking distance (twenty-five-minute walk). The main city sights, such as the Cathedral and the Cavern Club, are also close by within walking distance. There is also ample parking facilities and a bus stop just across the road from the hostel. It is on the direct bus route from the airport. The surrounding area is quiet even on weekend nights.
Rooms and Bathrooms
Dorm rooms have a mixture of bunk and single beds, all of which are solid and comfortable. Doors are lockable and lockers are available. The rooms are en-suite and toilet/shower rooms are all spacious, modern and spotless. The hostel offers late check-out if you want to stay in the room a little longer (just ask at reception) and private rooms are also available. The reception desk is open twenty-four hours and a delicious breakfast is included in the price. If you need to check out before breakfast is served, a packed breakfast can be arranged.
Common Spaces
The YHA Liverpool offers all the common spaces and facilities a YHA standard hostel might be expected to provide. There is a games room, lounge, TV room, kitchen, large dining area, laundry room, luggage storage, and internet access (as well as Wi-Fi). All of these areas are well-equipped and clean. As it is a large hostel, there are usually lots of guests to meet and a community atmosphere about the place, but there do not appear to be any hostel-organised activities.
Summary
The YHA Liverpool is a hostel of the highest standards with excellent facilities, comfortable rooms, and reliable service. It is a superb choice for any stay in Liverpool.

I absolutely loved my stay in Liverpool. The staff was nice, helpful and charming, and always available. The room was very clean, even cleaned every day, the kitchen was always available for private use, and most often staffed, serving delicious food. There was a common room for mingle between the guests, with a big-screen TV.

Awful Everyone except the manager were really nice. The three of us who stayed there for three days were told by her we only made problems for them. We are really shocked of this treatment and the service by this so-called manager. Don't bother with YHA Liverpool, find somewhere else to spend the night. — E A S , Norway (2008-02-04)

really it is very nice hostel, the staff are very friendly -- they will help you for what you need. the food is good, especially the english breakfast. I stayed three nights and I met guys from different countries. the location of the hostel is perfect, neat. the tourist attractions from the coach station it cost me 5 pounds to get there. finally i think it is the best hostel in Liverpool. — Ashraf B.wafa , Libyan (2007-04-18)
