Their Description

The Hostelz.com Review
't Keizershof is really nice. The host family, which owns the hostel and lives in it, is very friendly and helpful. This hostel is very charming and the owners are delightful -- and they speak several languages, which can be a help to travelers. They accept cash only. The price is expensive if you are just one person, since you must book the entire room. However, in the winter they are flexible on paying the price for the room and not per person. The hostel is smoke free and there is no lockout. There is a continental breakfast included in the price. There is free parking and bike storage.

The Location

It has an excellent location, between the train station and town. It is a five-minute walk to the train and to the charming town of Bruges. It is full of restaurants and cafes and this hostel is just steps from everything, in a very quiet and peaceful location.

Rooms and Bathrooms

There are seven rooms over two floors (none are en-suite). Most are double bedrooms, but they have one that has two double beds. On each floor there is a separate toilet and shower and each room has a sink in it.

Common Spaces

There is a sitting room for guest use as well as a book exchange and loads of travel information. There is a bar in the home for ordering drinks. There is plenty of storage in the rooms that have a key to them but no lockers. They do not have internet access. The kitchen belongs to the family for their use and to prepare breakfast for the guests so do not plan on self-catering. If you need laundry done they will do it for a fee.

Summary

This is a family-run hostel and they owners have had it as an inn for the last twenty years. The building is from 1950s but in the classic Brugge style of architecture. It is very clean and has B&B-style rooms. The atmosphere is very homey and welcoming. The family has young daughters and they have their fridge art under the glass tops of the tables in the breakfast room. This hostel is good because you get to live with a local family, but you can have your privacy if you want it. It's best for indie travelers that aren't looking for the party place.
