Awful Avoid this hotel even if it's a cheap one. You will be disappointed to keep 10$ in your wallet while you will not sleep at all. Nasty girl at the reception. No air conditioner (I prefer, somehow, seeing the state of the machine). Huge Cockroaches in the room. No security. The kitchen is limited to microwave oven. No phone in the room. No internet access. The reception is closed during the night. Thus if you have troubles, you will be alone. — Suzanne , French (2011-03-29)
Dirty and badly run We stayed here in November 2007, and it has clearly gone downhill. The dorm we stayed in was dirty, equipped with very old beds and mattresses, and half the lights and fans did not work. The adjoining bathroom was also very old and dirty. There were lockers in the room but you had to ask at reception for a key. When I asked for a key the guy at reception replied "I haven't got any. The bastards have stolen them"!! The shared kitchen is also very dirty and badly equipped. There are no bowls, cups, glasses, spoons or forks available, so you'll have to buy your own from the supermarket down the road. And it's not a Hostelling International hostel, you won't find it listed on the YHA Australia website!
Backpackers hostel? This is more like a bail hostel. — Martin , UK (2008-03-19)

This is the most enjoyable hostel I have ever stayed at. Having been stranded in Katherine due to an unreliable 1982 Toyota Corona, I found this hostel to be was a pleasant surprise. The girls on reception are great. They are really helpful and lots of fun. The pool is a great place to enjoy the wonderful weather. The rooms are spacious and have bathrooms en suite. Plus, the reception girls try their best to have people sharing with others with similar interests. It's easy to get to the Gorge and local pubs (as they are). Why not try the local golf course? It's cheap as anything, you can rent clubs and they welcome non-members. Plus if you pretend to be rubbish and ask nicely the girls will even make your pancakes for you! — Samson (2005-01-20)
