Beware! This place is listed in the the a Malaysia guidebook, but it should be avoided like the plague. Broken toilet. No lock on the shower room. The curtain fixture broke off the wall while I was in the room. When I mentioned these problems to the owner, I was met by abuse and told to leave. "Go to a five-star hotel!" Oh, I almost forgot -- no towel, not even a blanket, is provided without paying for them (which is not how it is in other budget hotels I've visited). All in all, a great place to stay -- if you're into masochism! — pcm , US (2008-12-24) Hazardous to health. Avoid this hostel. It is infested with bedbugs and fleas and there is no protection from mosquitoes, among other serious health problems. Also there are many rats and feral cats running through the hostel. It has not been fumigated and fresh sheets not put on the beds after each guest. This hostel has cut every cost possible but offers no more than broken facilities. If you have a private room, be careful as we found there was a long-stay local customer asleep in our bed. Do not stay here. — Anon , Germany (2008-08-06) Bedbugs infested! Beware. This hostel is infested with bedbugs. A week after staying there for only one night my entire body was covered in well over one hundred itchy bites. I am certain the bites were from Green Hut as after staying there one night I shifted into a hotel for work-related training. After reading many great reviews we decided to book this without seeing it first hand for our first night in KL What a mistake. This place lacks character, friendliness. The rooms were literally a box -- no windows -- and two small beds. Oh and did I mention the bedbugs? We saw them in the common area and didn't sleep very well knowing they were around. It was full of mosquitoes, especially when you turn off the light, or are sitting at the computer area. It's dangerous. The water heater isn't grounded. It is easy get an electrical stock. Be careful. The place has poor ventilation. The room has a window, but it cannot open. There's no laundry service and no space. It's very noisy. The floors are poor, made of fiber not wood or any solid materials. When people walk on the floor it is very noisy, especially people who weigh over 100 pounds. This place is expensive. It's unbelievable — if you ask for a blanket, you pay for it. There is no ice water; they only have very hot water. — Anonymous (2005-02-23) We tried to book for five nights and only four were available. The room was a box with no window or furnishings. There is no linen provided. Worst of all, though, we had booked and paid for a double en suite and when we complained we were told that they had UPGRADED us to this box. I broke a bone in my foot and had a plaster cast on it. While my friend did trips away from Kuala Lumpur, the staff took care of me like I was family. I would highly recommend the Green Hut to anyone I meet traveling. It is so clean, organized and central, not to mention how great the staff are. — Lisa (2004-10-20)
