This hostel is in a basement of a big hotel. The girls at the "big hotel reception" are very unfriendly and unhelpful. But as soon as you go downstairs, the youth hostel receptionist is a big surprise, because he is just the opposite and will help you with everything you can think of.
The rooms are clean (if you don't look under the bed),but very simple and hardly any sunshine comes through the window. There are 3 beds in each room.
The bathroom and shower is on the first floor, so you have to walk upstairs, if you want to use the facility.
Cheapest in town, but a little far from the center. If you have a map and you follow the directions above, it is not hard to find. You can go to the Aviation Building with the Airport Shuttle Bus, then take the 603 bus. You have to travel 30 minutes (depending on traffic). When the 603 bus crosses a bridge over a river and you see a McDonald's on the left hand side, you are there.
The Internet is 10 yuans/hour, they have 3 computers, but one is extremely slow, the others are just simply slow.
There is no laundry in the youth hostel, but if you walk 3 minutes, you can find one on the street.
Grocery shops are nearby, but nothing to do in the evenings in this neighbourhood. (Sometimes there is a night market in front of the McD.) — Bea (2006-08-18)

This was a pretty good place to stay. Generally pretty good staff, reasonably quiet, clean rooms, and cleaner bathrooms than most. I enjoyed my stay here quite a bit. Of course it's a bit removed from the city center, but the staff can help you with bus routes and such — and at 1-3 RMB [Renminbi, or People's Currency] a bus, it's not too expensive to get around for the money you save. — Marcus (2005-06-29)

This is a decent place. It's clean, has a 24-hour bar and is close to good bus routes. The reception staff and maid service are very unprofessional. — Frankie (2005-01-22)
