Wonderful place, horrific staff The most apathetic person ever met in six years living in Canada is the lady working there. She will break every basic courtesy rule, entering in the dorm room without knocking, will not turn the heat on more than she wants it to be (it was 16°C in the room), will make you feel spied upon. When i showed up, not a chance of changing my stay from three nights as initially planned to two as my new travel plan had become. Otherwise, this place is one of the best hostels around, great house, very quiet, fantastic views, and great guests! — Guillaume , Canada (2009-05-14)
Good hostel, bad staff. We stayed in this hostel for a night -- and it was enough, trust me! I am not picky at all. Even if the hostel is really good, clean, and cosy, there is a huge problem -- the landlord. I am sorry but I have to warn you about that. This hostel is like a military camp. The landlord is on your back every hours! You can't cook at all after 9 p.m. so if you want to visit, hick or go to the hot spring. try to make it before 7:30 cause actually the truth is you can't Cook, Eat, or Clean the kitchen after 9 p.m.! The kitchen has to be empty at 9 p.m.! Not 9:01 but 9 p.m. and if you do not get it, she will show you that the time is over. I thought that to be the owner of a hostel, the basic thing was to be sociable, nice, friendly but this person is totally the opposite. The first thing she asked was the money and try to have exactly the amount cause no change and no credit card! she did not want to bother herself. Try also to bring a lot of warm clothes cause the room is pretty cold. during night, some of us, were cold, even in the corridor is warmest than in our room. we were sleeping downstairs. We had wet clothes. We left them in the room all the afternoon, and you know what, the next morning, they were still wet! And make sure to clean everything after you because she can get really pissed off and trust me it's scary! It is not only the town, or what you visit which makes your trip nice, it is also where you stay and with who you are staying with! I had a really good time with my friends in Pemberton and honestly sometimes, we keep laughing about this crazy landlord but trust me, when you live the situation it is not funny at all. — K-ro (2007-10-19)

Absoloutly beautiful hostel. Immaculately clean and tidy and fresh and new. Really like being at home it was wonderful.
I found the lady running the hostel quite rude as she made us wait outside for 5 minutes when we arrived.
It was advertised as 20 dollars per person on thier web page but our confirmation came back as 50 dollars in total. I questioned the woman on the phone and she said that she did not want to fight over the 5 dollars each.
Yet she still charged us 50 on arrival. Therefore a 2 night stay became 1 because of one persons unfriendly behaviour. — Eadaoin , Ireland (2006-09-15)

GREAT HOSTEL--It has a super view of Mount Currie, good atmosphere, is clean, and has nice staff. — Lars (2004-08-29)
