The Hostelz.com Review
The Wander Inn Bunbury Backpackers is in a lovely blue house on a side street near the main cafe strip in Bunbury. If you arrive by bus (South West Coachlines or Transwa), go down the road that runs perpendicular away from the bus station, turn right onto Victoria Street, walk up to Clifton Street, and turn left. It's on the right about two blocks down.
The facilities and atmosphere in this hostel are excellent; staff are uniformly friendly and helpful, you'll receive ten minutes free internet when you arrive, there's free chocolate cake and coffee every night at 6:30, and a good selection of DVDs and movies to watch in the lounge. The big shaded backyard with its fairy lights and picnic tables is a popular spot for people to gather and meet other travellers. There's also a pool table for your enjoyment.
The rooms themselves are basic and often somewhat messy as there are many longterm visitors here, and there's only one bathroom per sex, so expect lineups for showers at busy times of day or to wait to use a bathroom while it's being cleaned. The kitchen is adequate, although there could be more fridge space.
The Wander Inn is a good place to stay if you're interested in volunteering at the Bunbury Dolphin Discovery Centre (and getting up close and personal with the wild dolphins that visit Koombana Bay each day) as they have a contact with the centre and help set up the volunteering. There are often ten or more volunteers staying at the hostel at any given time.

While we were in Bunbury, we had the luck to stay at the Wander Inn Bunbury Backpackers with the owners Caroline and Tony for 3 nights.
They were very friendly and helpful and we felt that this is a place, where they take care of their guests. It is clean and tidy and you have everything you need. The security is also good and your near the city center.
A special thing is, that there are a lot of volunteers, who work at the Dolphin Descovery Center. These people are lovely.
It is absolutely worth to stay at this place! — Patricia & Marco (2005-12-03)

I stayed here for a total of a month over Christmas and had such a great time! The hostel has such charm and I felt right at home. Caroline and Tony were two of the friendliest people I met while travelling around and they definitely want you to enjoy your time in Bunbury. There always seemed to be something going on around the hostel and the chocolate cake and coffee was a personal added touch! Thanks again guys for everything! I would recommend this place to anyone! — Mel (2005-10-25)

Comfortable and friendly, I will be staying there again a little later in the year. — Anonymous (2003-04-12)
