No trick, just treat! Awesome location in a beautiful, sophisticated neighborhood with Gaudi's apartment buildings one street over; uber-hospitable staff who organized a Halloween party for all the guests; facilities cleaned everyday; and a great, historic building. The mixed dorm is a bit cramped and stuffy, but if you can nab the private room with the balcony, you'll have one of Barcelona's best deals. (My friend and I used the balcony for an evening picnic with cava (Spanish champagne) and at one point watched a rollerskate race whiz by below). The neighborhood can be expensive as far as restaurants but there's an awesome bakery or two with good sandwiches on the way to Las Ramblas. I'd definitely stay here again!

This is a clean place with lockable rooms, three computers with free access, and a kitchen you can use. The location is in my opinion ideal, as it is an eight-minute walk to La Rambla and yet it is on a lively pedestrian street of its own that is quiet at night. The bathrooms are clean and the staff will do laundry for a fee.
