4  Excellent if you visit in a quiet time I stayed here with my son and friend and will return for some rafting. Only advice I can offer is to phone ahead and find out if an Oz Experience tour group will be there when you visit. We were fortunate enough to have the place to ourselves plus very friendly staff but apparently it is frequently packed to the rafters with Oz Experience guests which I cant imagine being as pleasant. The rooms were basic but very clean and comfortable and the shared area was very homely with excellent kitchen, books, and pool table. Beautiful area and well off the beaten track. Their kayak hire rates are very good and I recommend doing this as one of the cheapest places to play on whitewater in Australia.  , Australia ()
3  The accommodations we had were themed to be like miners' quarters, which meant there were six people stacked three-high in a tiny hovel not big enough to walk into sideways. This is a camping experience more than a backpackers', and if you are aware that you're basically getting a wooden bug-infested slab in a claustrophobic-sized room, then it's all good. Staff are really friendly and there's always a party going on here, and the grounds are gorgeous to go hiking. Rafting on the river is fun too. Here, it's more about the experience than the facilities anyway. Fun parties and BBQs in the main area.  ()
