Perfect This place is pretty special. We had a double room for a couple of nights and loved this place. It is a really special hostel -- very homey, with a warm log fire raging in the lounge room over winter and the best-equipped kitchen I've ever come across. It basically feels like you're staying in a home. The best thing was how friendly everyone was. Unlike all the "Kiwi Experience"/"GAP year" backpackers we came across in New Zealand, people were so friendly here and would, for example, offer to make you a cup of tea when they made one for themselves. Not suited to those who are looking to drink, party, and fornicate their way around the world -- more a place to relax and rejuvenate.

This was a nice hostel to stay in and the owners were nice, but we think safety is a problem here. There are no locks on the dorm doors and we had money stolen from a padlocked bag. We later found out that this has happened before so were not impressed! It was also very noisy and the kitchens were tiny. We won't be returning!

I loved it, so homey. fantastic garden in back.
American owned. French atmosphere.
Spent 3 nights there could have spent a week. Groceries close by, everything within walking distance.

This is a lovely, wee hostel. It was very homely, and the garden was amazing.
