Great place although a little expensive for families, esp on long stay Staying at Culdees is like entering a different world. The whole environment is one massive farm with the dream of becoming a self sufficient community. Lots of stuff to see and talk about as far as eco initiatives are concerned. There's quite a few residences around the main building in terms of caravans, "cottages," and static "camper" homes. One can only assume these people are the early settlers to this community to be. The main building is a rabbit warren of corridors which adds to the appeal (unless you get lost) and the rooms are delightful. Very quirky, but clean and tidy and not a sniff of the impersonality of many hostels. There's toilets and showers dotted around and two kitchens. A massive "music room" plus another large sitting room make great social ares along with a large open "barn" with sofas in which I assume can be used by residents during warmer nights/days. Views over Loch Tay are to die for and can be seen from some rooms. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Only a couple of minor grips inasmuch as not enough toilets/showers on 1st floor (3 rooms sharing one bathroom) and expensive for families; if there were us and the children staying we couldn't afford it. — Robert Saville , British (2011-05-06)

Fabulous bunkhouse I can highly recommend this bunkhouse. It is one of the best I have ever stayed in. Peaceful, relaxing, clean, well equipped. I felt completely at home. Would suit outdoor nature lovers. A perfect base for exploring the beautiful countryside around loch Tay. Next time I go I'll stay longer. — Alison , Uk (2011-04-30)

Really gorgeous weekend Stunning views, very relaxed, friendly set up, and sweet people who couldn't do enough for us when needed but were happy to let us get on and do our own thing. Kitchen is well supplied and bunk beds comfy. Came away wishing could stay longer -- highly recommended. Enjoy! — Tori , UK (2010-08-16)

Everyone really enjoyed the weekend at the Bunkhouse. The hosts were wonderful and I've never seen so many smiling faces at the end of a night's sing-a-long. It was also a great place for kayakers, giving views of the weather up and down the valley. Thank you!! — Heriot-Watt Canoe Club (2005-02-28)

It is simply great!!! I haven't been to a place like this before!!! It feels like home, and the hospitality is wonderful. It's a calm and beautiful farm house overlooking the beautiful loch!!! A must-stay place for anybody who wants a break, just to experience the beautiful landscape. — Sanchitha (2004-07-31)
