The Hostelz.com Review
Dolphins Beachhouse is a good little hostel that has a lot to offer, including free surfboard and boogie board hire. The staff are friendly but in some cases we feel they lacked the knowledge of the location that they were in.
The Location
Dolphins is in a great location -- with a two-minute walk to the beach with shops on the way, the little area just outside of the main street of Noosa has everything you need. The hostel offers a free shuttle into the main part of Noosa that departs every hour -- the trip takes about five to ten minutes. There are plenty of streets around with parking if you are driving in.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The rooms are not too spacious but offer enough. There are rooms with four to six beds in each dorm section including a good-sized kitchen. The rooms lock, so you can keep belongings secure. There is one bathroom between each section, which is fine, but people can be forced to wait depending on the lengths of shower taking. The bathroom facilities are good and spacious and are cleaned everyday and topped up with toilet paper. The showers are of a good quality and there is a bath mat provided.
Common Spaces
The common area is spacious in each section which includes a TV and DVD player and a selection of DVDs are available for hire at the desk. If sitting inside is not your thing, there are plenty of comfortable seats outside of the dorm areas, including a hammock. Other than seating in the outdoor area, some games can be found also such as table tennis and a pool table. A travel desk can be found by reception, as can book exchange and computers for the use of internet.
The people are friendly there -- all the backpackers are generally easy to get on with and as result, the hostel has a good ambiance. It is not a party hostel for those of you who want to drink all night, as there is a no-noise policy after 11 p.m. policy. But you can still have a good time with a few casual drinks in the comfy seats!
Summary
Overall this hostel offers a good stay and the location makes it even better. There was a booking system complication during our stay, and we got the impression this may not have been the first time it happened, but it did not detract from the enjoyable stay overall. We would recommend this hostel for anyone who wants to spend some quality time in Noosa and have an enjoyable stay!

Best Hostel Dolphins Beach House is awesome! The staff are so friendly and helpful. It's nice and clean and the location is so close to the beach, it's great. The beach is really nice, probably the best in Noosa. A little far from town but there is public transport close by. — Danny , Canada (2011-10-02)

Brilliant! A perfect hostel in a perfect place. A relaxing and easygoing vibe throughout the hostel. i found the rooms really good as there were several apartments with their own communal living rooms and kitchens. The staff were friendly and helpful, very willing to offer advice and things to do in the area. Around the corner from the best beach in Noosa, Sunshine beach, and the national park. I couldn't have asked for more! I would definitely recommend Dolphins Beach House to all travelers. — Janine (2007-01-23)
Rooms were pretty cramped, and the bathrooms and kitchens aren't that nice. But the worst thing is that you are so far from town and you have to rely on their taxi van which sucks! My stay was also worsened by the fact it rained the whole time so it was pretty boring hanging at this hostel for three days! — Too far from town (2006-08-06)

I stayed at Dolphins for three nights and really liked it. It's clean, the facilities are good, the staff is very friendly, and there is a courtesy bus that goes into Noosa Heads. It's one of the best hostels I've stayed in so far. There are a lot nice sitting spaces outside where they put candles at night. — Mirjam (2006-05-31)

This hostel is really one of the best ones I've been during my trip in Australia. The staff must have changed, because now they are really friendly and they try to do everything for you, because they care about you and want you to have a good time. It's really close to the Sunshine beach, which is a really good beach. It's true, the hostel is a bit far from the centre, but that's why they offer a free bus every hour. Outside they have a nice chillout area where you can just relax. Noosa itself is such a good place I definitely love it! If you want to have a good time, stay in Dolphins! — Katja (2006-04-19)

I believe this is one of the best hostels in Australia. Although the hostel is about a five-minute drive away from Noosa Heads, there is a free bus that runs in and out of the transit center with drop-offs in the Junction for a supermarket stop. Plus Dolphins is the closest hostel to Sunshine Beach, which is by far the best beach in Noosa. I found the hostel to be very clean and the staff really friendly and helpful. The way the hostel is laid out is what attracted me to stay. There are six units that have two dorms (one four-bed, one five-bed) so nine people all share a unit with a sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. So it's like having your own flat and it's easy to meet other travelers! So I say stay here and make your own minds up or you'll miss out! — Tasha (2005-05-26)
YUCK! The staff was horrible! And this was awhile ago and I see nothing has changed! It was clean enough I guess and handy for the beach and the hammocks are fun (unless you break them). But it came down to the cramped, ugly dorms and beds and the staff who partied all night and kept everyone else awake! You couldn't even complain. The place was also FAR from town. I've seen worse but I've never had to deal with staff like this! — Anonymous (2005-02-07)

This place was far from the worst I've come across, but it was not very clean. I wouldn't want to stay here again. The staff are not very friendly. — Kev (2004-09-24)
