Auberge Chez Nous

The place is clean definitely, but the kitchen is very small, and crowded with lots of everybody's food, and perhaps food that people left behind. apparently the electrical can opener does not work properly and there is no manual one around. the hairdryer they have works, but it ain't a strong one. so the folks with long hair, it is best to bring your own. the staff is nice, great to talk to!

I just can recommend it! Neighborhood is quiet, the place is very clean, friendly, and the staff is welcoming! Moreover, the hostel is greatly located at five minutes walk from the C-Train, ten minutes from the Calgary Tower and five minutes from City Center.

This Hostel is very centrally located to sightseeing areas. It is very very clean. The beds are comfortable, the room setting quite private since five beds are in one room. Nice sitting area for relaxing, watching tv, computer access. Bathroom clean, neat, good showers. Air conditioning works well. Staff accommodating. I would recommend this Hostel and plan to stay there again.

Auberge Chez Nous is a great hostel, with far from typical living conditions! From the friendly French owner/operators to the fully tiled bathroom, you will feel fully at home. They will even wash, dry and fold your washing for around $5. There is a nice TV with a stack of videos for your viewing pleasure. Located in central downtown Calgary, the library and free Internet are only a few minutes walk away. They'll even wake you up and call a taxi if you have an early flight/bus the next morning. Overall this is an excellent place to spend a few nights in Calgary, the only downside being its location above a bar, which had (really bad and loud) karaoke contests the Saturday night that I stayed there.

This place was very clean and private. However, the room I was in had paper-thin walls.

I think Chez Nous is by far the most relaxed and well maintained hostel I have ever stayed in. The staff is excellent and, with a prime location to get to almost anywhere, this hostel is very convenient. I felt at home and safe at all times.

The main word that comes to mind about the Chez Nous is "clean." It is ultra-clean. It's by far the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed at. The staff clean the rooms and showers daily, and they are always spotless. There are no bunk beds, and you have quite a bit of privacy. It is the closest place to home that you will find. The staff are really nice and always helpful. Although there is not a real party atmosphere, the Chez Nous is a great hostel to chill out at.
