Typical YHA This is a good hostel, no doubt. Clean, well equipped, and good facilities. But, for being in Byron bay it's very anonymous and boring. I stayed here just 2 nights after considering this hostel could be just anywhere in Australia. Boring guests and the parties where not special at all. Goon and drinking games at most! It's very sterile and typical YHA standard inside. Not even a poster on the wall! It's location is a bit further away from town center and a bit walk to everything. Paying $30 dollar for a dorm here is only worth if you like hospital clean rooms and kitchen and don't like to live surfer life and having fun in Byron bay! — Fredrik , Sweden (2010-05-09)

This is the best hostel I ever stayed in. Except for that one of the staff was not very friendly, and that the pool is unaccessible for a part of the day because it's filled with scuba divers (what's with that?), this hostel is excellent. It's very clean, in good condition, wonderful places to hang around. I would highly recommend this hostel. — Wendy (2007-01-31)

Yeah, this place rocks, the dorms are clean, showers as well and the kitchen is just fantastic. There are also free bikes for hire. The hostels is just a little bit too big, so it's not very easy making friends with other guests, but apart from that, I can highly recommend this place to anyone! — Francis (2006-12-19)

Great hostel. Everything you need from a hostel. Location -- tops! right by the beach and bars. Rooms were pretty good, nothing special. Very friendly atmosphere. — Gidon (2006-08-21)

I have stayed at this hostel four times in the last three years. The first time in 2004 i was a little nervous as i had never stayed in a hostel in my life before. However, i was pleasantly surprised and had one of the best summer holidays i have ever had! Since then, i have visited Cape Byron at least once a year (always in summer and once in springtime). It has never failed to disppoint and always maintained a high level of cleanliness, hygiene, and great communal living, where i get to meet a lot of new people from all over the world (especially the open area upstairs at meal time). The pool is an added bonus (as the beach is only a hundred metres away). I had to stay somewhere else in January 2006 but it just didnt compare. This is my favourite place to stay in Byron. — Angie Paspaliaris (2006-07-14)

I stayed at the hostel a week ago for an entire week and was very satisfied. The rooms were cleaned daily, you get clean sheets (really!), the kitchen gets cleaned twice a day, bathrooms are good. I liked the big outsite sitting area where there is enough room for everyone eating. The pool is surrounded by a lot of palm trees and it's just cozy. Cape Byron YHA is very conveniently located, close to the beach, centre of town, and bus stop. They also have a courtesy bus. — Mirjam (2006-05-21)

Very good service, liked it. It's little too expensive i think, but after all it's ok. tidy clean rooms with good mattresses. close to anything you possibly want to have, rent several things for the beach. even for free. pool is poor, but it's a pool =) was there only for 4 nights, not that long... — Mr.F (2005-12-22)

Stayed here for two nights. Great hostel. Room was clean, quite small but had everything we needed, kitchen was clean and well equipped, nice eating area outside on the balcony. Communal areas were great, all clean. Bathrooms were a bit far away from our room, but they were cleaned regularly which is such a nice change after some of the scuzzy hostels we stayed in in Sydney. Location was fab, less than 5 mins walk to the beach and 5 mins the other way to Cheeky Monkeys :) — Irish Boys and English Girl (2005-12-02)

This hostel is really close to the beach and the center of town, though Byron isn't really that big. The dorm I stayed in was clean, as were the bathrooms. I found that this hostel is very hard to get a bed in, so book in advance! — Anonymous (2005-10-10)

This is one of those rare hostels that you find and never want to leave. Everything has been considered for a comfortable, hassle-free stay. Other hostels in the area may be a little cheaper, but I would happily spend a couple of extra dollars a night to stay here. — Anonymous (2005-01-21)

I loved this hostel. It was so easy to meet people because everyone just chills outside their rooms and you have to walk by them to get to your rooms. We met so many awesome people here. The rooms were decent, nice and cool for the most part. The pool is central so it's easy to meet people there, too. The hostel is in a great location as well; it's a really close walk to the beach and everything else in town. — Christy Woods (2005-01-20)

If you're looking to stay in a hostel in Byron Bay, then look no further than the Cape Byron YHA. It's spotlessly clean, has all the facilities one could possibly need, it's well run and it's in a fantastic location. Even though it is a little more expensive than some other hostels in the area, it is well worth the extra couple of dollars. This hostel would have to be one of the best in the country! — Anonymous (2004-12-20)

This hostel is fantastic and cannot be faulted! The staff are extremely helpful and well organized. The dorms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. are all spotlessly clean and well maintained. The hostel is situated close to the beach and is only minutes away from the main street and nightlife. I wouldn't bother staying anywhere else in Byron Bay, as no other hostel could possibly compare. — Anonymous (2004-11-19)

This hostel was really good. The rooms were clean, as were the bathrooms and the kitchen. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was excellent, really close to the beach and shops and nightlife. I would definitely recommend this hostel, and I would stay here again. — Sandra (2004-09-19)
