Great hostel, great town
Doug and Bianca create a really nice hostel in this tiny, beautiful little town. Go there!

Lazy River was a find that was a mistake. we had been told to go to Karlovy Vary but got off at the wrong stop and had grabbed the pamphlet for Lazy River from our hostel in Nurnberg. As soon as we came around the bend it was magnificent. Doug and Bianca made room for us as we arrived unexpectedly in the middle of the summer music festival and we had a difficult time leaving! We were there three days and made one more day in the end of our trip before returning to Germany. Go the the castle for a fantastic meal of pork knuckle and the potato soup is a meal in itself! The hostel is ridiculously cute and the atmosphere is magical. I will go there again.

Five stars doesn't even begin to describe this amazing place! Doug and Bianca have put together a truly wonderful place in a magnificent setting. Kudos to you both, stayed here for two weeks and could have easily made it two months. Don't miss this gem!

I had a fantastic time in autumn of 2003. Doug is a great host, the atmosphere made me feel so at home I didn't want to leave. It's a beautiful little town perfect to relax in, have a few beers in the square by the fountain, or read a book down on the river bank. Some great day trips close by too. I love this place!

Possibly one of the best hostels i've ever been to. Doug and Bianca are the most friendly and helpful people ever -- big ups! Definitely worth the bus trip there so just do it.

I've stayed at this hostel more times than I can remember. I was there on the first night and have kept going back ever since. Doug, the owner, is a cool guy always happy to help and send you in the right direction. The village itself is gorgeous and the locals are friendly and always up for a game of foosball or a few beers. If you need a place to relax before heading north, east, south or west this is a good place to head to, but watch out for gotstein (ask Doug).

Just what I needed after four days in Prague. Great hostel in a beautiful and very quiet town.

We loved the Lazy River Hostel! Doug was a really awesome dude!! I would recommend that you stay at the Lazy River Hostel. We found a gem and we will definitely be back next year.

We stayed in Loket during an Eastern European spring in April 2004, and this was hands-down our favorite stop. The town is beautiful, the hostel is friendly and the hiking is great. You would be hard-pressed to find a more picturesque location anywhere in the world.

This was absolutely the most memorable part of my six-week trip. I planned on staying in Loket for a couple of nights and ended up losing a week there. Doug and his girlfriend were the best. They had great ideas for activities, everything from hiking to sightseeing in Karlovy Vary to just chilling out and enjoying the peacefulness of the town. One night we even snuck into the World Cup of canoeing after-party at the castle and drank free Pilsner Urquell! If you're in Czech, you absolutely must visit Lazy River Hostel in Loket.

Sooo beautiful. Please do yourself a favor and visit Lazy River Hostel. You'll never want to leave!

It's the type of place where you feel like it's your own home. We stayed for a week, walking the tracks, visiting other towns and enjoying the hospitality of the locals and the invitations of the owners. Doug, the owner, even took us in to town to attend one of the local hockey matches. The whole place is a postcard.

Very clean rooms, excellent value for the money. A great place to relax and base yourself whilst exploring the lovely town and beautiful countryside. Cool, friendly owners. Simply the best hostel in the Czech Republic!
