4  Good Value Overall I had the small single room at the rear of the Hostel which affords peace and quiet for late sleepers. The room was basic, small but comfortable. But do note this is a non-Smoking Hostel tho you can smoke on the stairwell landing. The owners and myself had a long running discussion about what constitutes breakfast. Two rolls, one pat of butter, and one pat of jam isn't my idea of breakfast however theres a small cafe around the corner which does a reasonably priced substitute. The Hostel is clean with a nice communal area where you can mingle with the other guests, have internet access or take a beer and the showers have constant hot water. Despite all these minor points it does represent good value and is centrally located. But what really makes this place great are the Staff. Full marks to Mariano, Sabrina, Ernan, and their families. They made excellent hosts always willing to help with any kind of enquiry you might have. without their sunny disposition, I'm sure my stay wouldn't have been so memorable. The hostel is relatively new and as word spreads and they become a bit more established financially this place can only go from strength to strength. you really can't find a better place for a first trip to BsAs. Well Done Guys and Gals. Thanks for a great welcome!  , Manchester UK ()
5  I just love this hostel! It was my second time in Buenos Aires and I decided to meet Alkimist Hostel. And it was a great surprise! The staff was really nice and warm. Good breakfast, great shower, and large rooms with a comfort bed. It's not a place to have a party. It was the end of my trip to Argentina and I just need a calm place to rest. Next time I'll be there again!  , Brazil ()
