Harrismith is not a place worth visiting, but if you're looking for a place to crash on a visit to the Drak or on the way to or from Jo'burg this hostel works great. It's basically just a house (with a security gate, so it's safe) with a small free-standing cabin that works as a double for couples or good friends who are secure in their sexuality. There's also a dorm that sleeps about six. The owners are real friendly, and it was cheap — 120 Rand for the double as of December 2004. However, the owners said they made a mistake and it was actually 140 Rand, but they ate the difference. Recommended. — Paul (2004-12-20)
