3 Had fun!
This was my first hostel in OZ, I did enjoy it I was there from April 2007 to October 2007. The people were nice and most of them were a bit longer term! Most people worked, as I did, so it was it was a hostel where you could generally count on getting a good nights sleep. Most of the people seem to get to know each other. This hostel was close to Public transport, so getting to the city is really easy ( I worked in the city and it was fifteen minutes from station to where I worked). It was close to groceries, McD's, booze, bridge road which has a few cafes and such, and it's a quick jaunt over to Swan which has more as well. The kitchen was a bit small, but not to bad and the fridges weren't too great, The common room was ok, it had four sofas and some bean bags to lie on and he had a decent movie collection. The location is nice as its close enough to the city but far enough away from the noise. The cleanliness was up and down, sometimes it was good and sometimes not. This would be perfect for anyone staying three months or less, if you are over that I would suggest finding a share house, because for the same price you could get your own room and share with less people. Overall, I liked it.

4 A home from home
I fully recommend this hostel to anyone wanting a decent, sociable, friendly, well run, long term hostel whilst working in Melbourne. Its one five-minute stop to the CBD on the train and Richmond is a really cool place to set yourself for a bit, loads of shops bars and restaurants nearby but set on a side road in the suburbs so you get to wake up with the birds each morning, and you cant beat that! The BBQ area is great for socialising (Quiet enough on a week night). I have had some great times and met some great friends here. Steve runs the place very well. I will come back.

3 I think the title Central Melbourne is a little misleading as it's located in the suburb of Richmond not the Melbourne CBD. It's not a bad place but some of the people staying there were not at all nice and in the smaller setting it made things aukward.(luck of the draw I suppose!) The beds sqeaked really badly and as I was on the top bunk the German chap below me was getting rather irritated and was blaming me!The owner Steve seemed quite friendly but he needs to sort those beds out ASAP as it was a common fault throught the hostel. The place was always clean and tidy and the kitchen and lounge were rather nice.

4 I'd been backpacking for almost a year when myself and my boyfriend decided it would be nice to stay in a smaller hostel as we both had good ful time jobs. This place was just the ticket, more like a student shared house lots of couples and people on sponsered stays. Good, fair priced double rooms, clean and tidy. Couple of down points though. There was no pick up from the bus depot even though I called the owner several times for directions (it's on a very small culder-sac off the main streets) and the water in the showers was FREEEEZING!!! Unfortunately we did get kicked out as my (ex)boyfriend had a fight (off premesis) with one of the Aussie lads staying there. Although his behaviour was inexcusable the owner refused to give us a refund for the week we'd paid in advance even though I'd just handed him the $250 that morning. Furious! Especially after I learnt that the other lad involved was allowed to stay. Double standards! Never mind,It's still a decent place to stay just don't go there with an aggro boyfriend!!!!
