Very Good and Homey I stayed in this place for two days with my friends -- twenty-five of us. V had the most wonderful time and experience which made our stay the best one. Since we came to know through many people who stayed in this place we took a decision of coming here. But what we saw and experienced here is fantastic. Nothing else like this place. The Management and the staff specially are very good, kind, and always at your service. The only place with such a beautiful view and a clean place. If one wants to visit Kodi and have a comfortable and memorable trip and relax please please go to Greenland and have the best time of your holiday. — Vijaya.K. , Indian (2009-03-13)

last month i had a vacation, i thought of going to india, i met with the travel people in india, they suggest me to go to kodaikanal, where we can enjoy and have fun. when i searched the internet i could able to get a room in greenland youth hostel. the place is located just 5 minutes walk from the lake and adjoining to coakers walk. you trust me or not the staffs they were amazing . they helped lot about kodaikanal, rooms were normal but the hospitality were excellent. if i got a chance next time i would prefer to stay there. thanks to greenland. — Ayal , isreal (2008-10-04)

Very very bad Don't believe the web site of Greenland hostel. The web site looks great, but if you go there, you can see the reality. It may be cheaper, but you can get much cheaper hotels in Kodaikkanal. I went to Greenland on July 6, 2008 with my colleagues including twenty-three girls and thirteen boys. We had called them and booked domes for the entire team two days before. But when we were there, what we got was two dorms (you can hardly call it dorm) one hundred meters apart. When we inquired about the girls' security, they gave us big promises. But we boys had to stay awake and serve as watchmen at the night. There were some guys drinking near the room where our girls were staying. They kept drinking overnight and making comments towards the girls. When we complained at the reception, there was no response. So we had to check-out the very next morning. The food is very bad and costly. For a chappatti, you need to pay Rs. 8 and for an egg curry, you need Rs. 40. The rooms were of very poor quality. No room service, no hot water, and you wont go inside the toilet even to piss because of the stinking smell. And you need to walk over a kilometer if you need a tea or to get a taxi. Greenland is utter waste. The only good thing is you can go there if you want to drink, disturb others, or ypu like a place to enjoy with a whore. — Siju , India (2008-07-08)

Great price for money Well here you think you have come to a place where you can relax and really have harmony with the nature. The hospitality is good and the ever smiling manager Mr. Prince (Who is well recognized by most of the travel agents of kodai and some other hotel owners) is a great plus. The owners also shares there home in the same premises. They are also very helpful and ready to give you information. Hotel has its own kitchen, which serves you the dish which you want. (Actually when we visited, since it was off season kitchen was not at its full swing but they managed for our food). If you are a tea lover you will have to get milk powder with you as they provide black tea/coffee. (May be someone who has gone in pick season may be able to comment better.) The hotel is near coakers walk and if you don't like to walk down or if you don't have your own vehicle it may be bit difficult for you as the place is approx one and a half kilometers away from the heart of the town. But, the views from rooms are great and that's what will make you feel worth walking down at this place. Enjoy the nature at its best. — Milind , Indian (2007-12-17)

Nice quiet place. A little trek from the centre of town brings you to this place. fantastic views of the plains and surrounding hillsides. dorm type bunker beds, plus individual rooms available. One can meet people from all over the world here. Small cafeteria attached. Fireplace only in individual rooms. can get pretty cold out here, so carry woolens. — Mukund (2007-01-21)

Awesome place. Great view of Tamil Nadu, the plains especially when night falls you can see the city lights decorating the plains. Lovely place to stay. — NAVEEN (2006-05-04)
