The hostel is owned and run by European owners. They are pretty friendly and really flexible. The hostel has a nice common kitchen and room upstairs. The dorms are not the best, the beds are pretty much used, can sleep up to 6 people and also the bathrooms are just all right, even those were fixed up not too long ago. They have two dorms and two bathrooms serving people from the dorms. One of bathrooms is very small, almost useless. There are three private rooms available as well. The kitchen has only one fridge, so you'll have trouble storing your food if the place is busy.
Overall the hostel is quiet and nice place to stay. It's not too far from the main attractions and the train station, but it's a long walk with backpack. There are parking available if you travel by car -- which is recommended in Alaska.
