From the moment we met Kate and Steve we loved them and became friends in 1994. We came again and again and 1999 we married in their backyard. And we will always come back again -- as long as we can.

Kate is a warm and welcoming person. I felt at home immediately. She provided helpful information about the surrounding area. A very relaxing environment. I was very comfortable in the cabin. This is not a Marriot or Hilton. If you are looking for luxurious facilities, this is not for you.

I stayed at Kate's five years ago when I was hitchhiking through Alaska after working in Denali for the summer. Kate was wonderful! Her pig was hilarious! She even let us borrow a silly old car to go see the glacier in town. Three years later when my mother and I traveled to Alaska in a RV we stopped by just to say hi. She was warm and welcoming and looked us up in the book she has in the kitchen. I am again in Alaska and now am planning on moving to Seward, halfway based on the welcoming spirit of Kate. It's rustic, it's Alaskan, it's real. And breakfast was to die for. Thanks Kate!!

I liked Kate from the moment I met her. It was late September and they gave me a great price on a cabin in the back. The cabin was awesome and private. I will be staying again soon.

Not only were the accommodations at the Roadhouse exceptional, Kate has since become a good friend, and I can't wait to go back and see her again.

Kate is a very open and interesting person. We stayed in the Sourdough Cabin, which was only big enough for a full bed, a TV and a small desk and chair, but had plenty of heat and plenty of character. The shower was experiencing slight problems while we were there, so my husband ended up sponge bathing, but other than that, the whole place was wonderful and felt like home. Kate even sent us off with some fresh frozen salmon, halibut and raspberry jam! We would certainly stay here again, as Kate nearly feels like a friend now!

Kate is warm and welcoming. There are unique rooms and reasonable cooking facilities. It is just on the outskirts of Seward in a lovely wooded area. There are books and board games for all to use. I hope to stay there again.
