We can't tell you how much we liked this place and how hospitable the hosts are. Bunk rooms and some single family rooms, shared bathrooms and showers ... er, communal. Be forewarned. This hostel is located at 9,888 ft (3,000 meters). The sun and beer is strong up there. Avalanche café is right down the street (also highly recommended) and if you attend a Christian type church there is one that features live music Sundays. Careful. The real sheriff plays in the band. Don't criticize their playing. He'll shoot you. Haha! In fact, they are quite good, Dixieland style sing-a-long karaoke. Rob runs a tight hostel ship. No cockroaches or black mold. Very highly recommended especially for the fantabulous scenery, too. Hope to see you guys again at the 4th of July. — . dr. steve dosh and ohana , usa (2012-04-27)

Definitely a must see Rob was a great host. We actually extended our stay in Silverton because of him. Clean rooms, great location, and very comfortable. Next time we Jeep in the San Juans, rest assured this is where we will stay. — Doug , Austin, TX (2011-10-23)

Clean, comfortable, affordable home away from home. great place to hang. — Anonymous (2010-04-03)

Robin is the best! Robin does a great job! — Kathy McCasland , usa (2008-04-20)

This Hostel is the best! Robin Rothschild knows how to make you feel comfortable. She lets us use her computer to check emails, and it's clean and homey. To me its like a bed and breakfast. It's much nicer since she took over. I will be back soon. — Christina Early , Jackson Hole Wyoming, USA (2007-09-10)

Stayed here during a bicycling trip through Colorado. Owner is a potter (makes pottery), and has his studio adjacent to the hostel. The actual hostel is fairly small, but very comfortable. Absolutely stunning scenery in all directions. Small common room, and not much to do in the hostel, but plenty to do in the area. Very clean. — Steve (2004-02-13)
