5  Clean, Friendly, and Comfortable = home away from home the old italian couple still live behind the hostel, but are quite nice to us. the hostel is a lovely clean place, close to the city centre. the staff are friendly, and the hostel always attracts a good bunch of people. have some really good memories from the woodduck and I think thats credited to the fact it is not a huge hostel therefore it is easier to meet people.  , England ()
4  Well worth a stay!!! I always look to stay in the smaller hostels as they usually offer a better service and are easier to meet people. The Woodduck is such a place -- I would recommend to everyone. The crazy guy is no longer part of the business but the funny stories are still told about him. Clean, spacious rooms with comfy mattresses as well.  , UK ()
5  The Time Of My God Damn Life!!!! When my friend and i arrived in Brisbane, i said lets stay at the sh*tty one next door to the YHA, they also had no room but the lovely guy Chris sorted us out with a bed and mattress on the floor, so we weren't on the streets, he also did the same for two people we met as well. The staff are amazon (amazing)!!! we were only going to stay 2 days max then ended up staying long term as has a lot of people here. i haven't been to a hostel yet that has had the impression this one has had on me. I LOVE IT and the staff. If you need a place to stay and you need help with absolutely anything, stay here!!!! It's clean, fresh, fun, tidy, brand new interior and just a happy place to be, don't like cities and this made me feel so at home. AHHHHHH LOVE IT!!!! Met some awesome people.  , US ()
1  Whilst staying somewhere else, i walked past this sh*thole and was verbally abused by the old biddy inside, he also threatened me with a spade. He is obviously old and mentally challenged but i did nothing to enrage him so i would stay well away.  , England ()
1  Today on 24 December 2006 at 10.43 am. i rang to that number 32362961, after long waiting man abused me, after i asked how much female dorm then i rang again female answered that she cant understand what i asked her. Is it a joke?  ()
1  I attempted to walk in off the street to this place (sandwiched between the YHA and City Backpackers). The owner (whose English was very poor) told me they were full before I even told him what I wanted. I asked him when they'd have vacancies and he just kept shouting at me that they were full and to go away. He wouldn't even let me in off the street from the pouring rain. Very poor.  ()
